Lend a hand on the battlefield...
“The
harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore
pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” ~ Matthew
9:37-38 (NKJV).
Praying 4 U Ministries
I have read the bible and know we are going to win, but know
we can lend a hand on the battlefield and play a role in expanding the Kingdom
of God.
The church I attend was good at asking everyone to spread
the word of the upcoming special Christmas Eve service they annually present in
the community. We were asked to give out cards inviting others to the services
and urged to put signs in our yards to promote it.
Most of the men in the groups I hang out with talked
about how difficult it was to ask others to come to church. It is easy to talk
about what is wrong with church, but harder to tell others about the goodness.
Just happened that a local church that is thought of by
many to be a cult recently opened a new church in the neighborhood and their
assembly had very little trouble promoting a free lunch and invitation to tour
the new facility. Invitations were around town at various places and yard signs
could be not be avoided. I was also approached twice face to face.
I went over to the new facility just to see what it was
like inside of their churches. I went through the various side rooms and looked
at numerous displays of all of their works in the community.
Once inside the actual room that they worship in, a voice
inside of me said, “Pray, Pray for them!” Pray, pray just as fast as I could.
That’s what I did!
My friend had the tour guide cornered which freed me up
and I prayed in the mighty name of JESUS over the seats that anyone who might
sit in these seats would come to know the truth about our JESUS. I prayed that
the Holy Spirit would fill that room completely from the new carpet on the
floor to the top of the room and from wall to wall front to back.
I thank JESUS for the opportunity to pray for the people
who might be in that facility in the future. Only our great God knows how far
the ripples will travel.

1:23 (NIV).

Tell others of His wondrous works...
“Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!”
~ 1 Chronicles 16:9 (NKJV).
I am laying claim to 1 Chronicles 16:9 as my memory verse for 2014. I ran across this verse and I realized that is exactly what we should be doing. We do not talk enough about our great God and all the awesome things he is doing.
If we talk about church to others, many times it is to criticize the pastors, the sermons, or other details of the worship service or the church. We can talk and talk to everyone about what we don’t like, but why don’t we speak of the wonderful works of God?
Talking about the King of all the Angels, the maker of heaven and earth, is exactly how we release the presence of our LORD. We sing how the Holy Spirit is welcome here, but many do very little to release the presence of God.
I pray that you will join me in making 2014 the year that you choose to tell others about the our loving God who provides, heals, delivers, hears prayers, and YES, he still answers prayers!
“I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever.” ~ Psalm 145:1-2 (NKJV).

'Tis the season...
![]() |
| Praying 4 U |
The Christmas season is a great time of year as
many are filled with the joy of giving and receiving. Hope is everywhere. Hope
is in the hearts of our little ones and on the hearts of those older than us. Every
age group experiences the joy in hope.
However, Not everyone is filled with joy. Christmas time is a lonely time for those who have lost a love-one in the past at this time of year.
Others think back to an unhappy childhood
where happiness was not in their homes any day including Christmas. Thoughts of
the year you may have lost your job and could not provide for your family come
to some minds.
Some are living through suffering and pain and not expected to live to the end of this year and surely expect not to be on earth next Christmas. For every story of joy know there is a story of sadness.
My plea to you is that you will be the arms of our loving God this day and forever more to those not experiencing joy.Be on the lookout for that person or person and spread the love of Christ.
May you be joyful in hope and patient if you are going through tough times. Note that if you are going through them and that you are not going to be stuck in them, for the commander is with you and will not forsake you. You are going through. This will come to pass.
Be faithful in praying and do not offer up leftover prayers, but pray with power giving God our best. Praise God with the same enthusiasm that you petitioned him with. Heaven is indeed ignited by prayer that is on fire.
“LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup;
you make my lot secure.” Psalm 16:5
(NIV).
Shalom,
Rick Hawbaker
