The great works of Jesus Christ continue...

It's always good to hear from and pray with a brother on the other side of the globe. I talked with Pastor Kranthi Paul Somavarapu (Pastor Paul), Monday morning via cell phone.

I had been praying for a One Day Gospel Meeting of Prince Ministries - India and Pastor Paul had emailed me pictures. A total of 38 lost souls were claimed for the kingdom of God at the meeting. Praise the LORD!

"It sounds like angels singing and celebrating in the heavenly places for the new babies of God's kingdom," told Pastor Paul. "Thank you for your special prayers," He then sent out 22 pastors in the month of February to go to the villages in the India state of Andhra Pradesh near Guntur.

They shared the story of the blessing of God in Isaac's life and handed out tracts. (See Genesis 26:12-33.) The great works of Jesus continues in the uttermost parts of the world. They ran into a lot of idol worship, witchcraft and rituals.

Pastor Paul and I prayed together for the sake of salvation of the country. It is my prayer that they carry the light of Christ into the villages, pulling the lost souls out of darkness and nourish the babies in Christ at birth and in the days ahead.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere--in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8 NLT)

Pray in the morning...

“In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Psalm 5:3 (NIV).

I love getting up in the morning and spending time with God. The mighty greatness of our creator, the Lord of Lord and King of
Kings, shines in the mornings. That’s when I can really feel His presence.

There is just something really special about how fresh a new day is. Spurgeon wrote, “An hour in the morning is worth two in the evening. While the dew is on the grass, let grace drop upon the soul.”

Honor God the first thing in the morning and watch how that sets the tone for the entire day. Get with Him before being surrounded by all the corruptness that rears it’s ever so ugly head as the day goes on.

Today is a new day and the victory through Christ is ours. We are saved by the blood of the lamb. Get into the habit of praying to the King of the universe and listen to him.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12 (NIV)

Speak in praise of the LORD...

"Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.” Psalms 150:6 (NIV).

I was honored at work for putting in 10 years of service. I made my way to the front to claim my certificate and pin among the cheers. As my co-workers shouted speech I took the opportunity to exalt my God the King.

“All glory and praise to our God. He is my strong tower,” were the first words out of my mouth. I continued, “Without him I would not have made it. He is the one that got me to work every day and the one who returned me home safely each night. All praise to King Jesus.”

Afterwards a new associate came up to me and said, “that was really neat what you did this morning. Giving God the glory and praise is something you just don’t hear of in the work place. Thank you!”

“My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.” Psalm 145:21 (NIV)

Father God – May we always exalt you for you are most worthy of praise. Your greatness no one can fathom. Your works and great deeds are awesome beyond compare. You hear our cries and satisfy our desires as you watch over those who love you. In the name of King Jesus. Amen and amen!

Pray today for healings...

Satan has the power to make us sick and does. God is more powerful and can make us well. Our God is a God of possibilities and everything is possible with Him.

It is written in Psalm 103:2 (NIV), “Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases…”

Forgiveness and healing are two of “His benefits.” Does God still forgive you of your sins? Of course He does. He also still “heals all your diseases.”

God has not changed. When Jesus went back to Heaven, this healing did not stop. He commanded us to carry on this work, which was to lay hands on the sick and see them healed.

“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.” Matthew 9:35 (NIV)

It is our job to pray and it is God’s job to heal. Pray today for healings. Have faith and believe.

'First on Main Street'

This morning going through the closet looking for just the right shirt to wear, I saw my ties hanging all neatly together. They looked exactly like they did the day I hung them there when we moved into the house.

The ties reminded me that I was the ‘First on Main Street’ day after day years ago in the flatlands of the Midwest. I thought that being the boss I needed to be the first one at work and in doing so I would gain the respect of my crew.

Although I knew the Lord then and served him as an Elder of a church, I don’t think he knew me. In the past ten years I have had a renewing of my mind and have become like that which I behold.

I used to seek the respect of the community and those working for me. Now I seek the respect of my Creator. Living for the King 24/7, I have both, the respect of God and of my community.

Father God – We thank you, Lord, that we are not merely a hearers of your word, but doers, and have built our houses on the rock of Christ. Thank you for rescuing us from ourselves. Continue to mold and shape us into the persons you died for us to be. In the good and great name of Jesus. Amen!

Too good not to share...

Did you ever see anyone sit at a stop light on purpose after it had turned to green? Probably not, but yet that is exactly what some do after God has given them the green light. We need a bump or a push to get about doing our Father’s business. Pray to be bold in your witness for Christ our King!

I walked up to a co-worker this morning and said, “You are so loved by a God that so answers prayers.” My comment immediately brought about a warm response. Then I heard one story after another how God is working at the healing room of her church. Praise God!

It is so good to share with one another what God is doing. Hearing the personal stories that give you glory bumps all over your body must have been like the disciples comparing notes and sharing feelings each night.

We are told in God’s holy word in the first chapter of John, that after Andrew and John had spent the night with Jesus, Andrew ran out and found his brother, Peter, as he wanted to share the good news of Christ.

Having fellowship with the body of Christ is still available for us. And that is exactly what I had today as we shared our excitement for the LORD. God is good all of the time and the news is still too good not to share.

Father God…You are awesome in power. To you be all the praise and glory. Give us the deep burning desire to tell others of your mercy, peace, and love that never ends. You are the risen and coming King. Thank you for your faithfulness and for your grace. We will follow you. In the name of King Jesus. Amen!

A cry out to the Lord...

I received a message on Facebook a few weeks back from someone I did not know. They had seen one of the prayers I had written on a Christian page and wrote to ask me if I was a prayer warrior.

Suspecting they were in need of prayer, I immediately wrote back and offered to pray. I did not receive anything from them for over ten minutes and then there it was…"I know it's weird but i don't wanna live anymore".

Instantly I heeded the call and prayed to God and asked for help in communicating to this person how much He loves her. The LORD’s words flowed through me that night and the person is alive and well yet today.

I have kept in contact with her and have given her support when God directs me to. It’s amazing watching someone that was fighting for their life at the beginning of the month now fighting to further the kingdom of God.

She has contacted me to pray for the salvation of one of her friends and has joined in praying for some of my friends. God has reached down and pulled her out of the deep water and now she is helping others.

It is special to get something from someone when you don’t expect it. She had me smiling today as she sent me a Valentine’s Day card. Now I am trying to figure out if the card is really from her to God or was it from God to me?

Father God – You are matchless Lord. Together we are all the body of Christ. We are here on earth to show your deep love. May we be your hands and feet as we reach out and may we receive help from you through others as it is needed. We ask this all in the name of the coming and risen king, our savior, Jesus. Amen!
