Do you know anyone that is passionately excited for Jesus? A real crazy for the Lord? I have crossed the path of a crazy for Jesus. She is a 55 year-old woman that just returned to Christ. She has left years of alcohol abuse behind and is on fire for God.
She has scripture on her lips, hymns ringing between her ears, and a smile on her face. She wears Jesus on her sleeve. She prays with others and leads with her heart. She can't get enough of God's word.
It is a real joy working with her. She told me she can't keep both hands on the steering wheel driving to work. Traffic that meets her all wave to her as she has one hand raised in praise as she sings and gives praise to our Lord. She is a joy to know and to help get reconnected with King Jesus.
She is one of God's dearly loved children. She once was lost, but now is found. God has been waiting for her to return home and he welcomes her back in his loving arms. He is more excited about her return to him than about the many people that did not stray from him.
Jesus told us in the Parable of the Lost Sheep in Matthew chapter 18, "What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost."
This jewel in the rough has been planted in the life of many people to help them get back to God. Thank you Jesus for sending her my way that I might be encouraged and be able to experience you through her.
Jesus told us, "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20 (NIV)
Father, God...thanks for the glory bumps I get on my body when you come near.
