Jesus heals today...

Beloved...

I am sure you have heard or read the story in God’s holy word about Jesus healing Peter’s mother-in-law…

Jesus went home with Peter one day after preaching in the synagogue. They found Peter’s mother-in-law suffering from a high fever. Jesus was asked to help her and he did. Jesus bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up immediately and began to wait on them.

She was HEALED! Peter’s mother-in-law was healed by our great God through Jesus. God still heals today through us as the same mighty power that raised Jesus from the dead is living inside of you.

God wants to use you to heal others through Jesus and to bring the knowledge of salvation to the multitudes. We have power over darkness through Jesus. We bring a piece of heaven to earth when we help heal others and bring glory to His name.

If we are indeed Christ-like, aren’t we supposed to pursue a lifestyle like Jesus. You have been given the power to rule over creation and over darkness. Expose and undo the works of Satan.

Father God – We thank you for our salvation through King Jesus and for the awesome work He did for us on the cross. May we grasp the call He has given us and invade the impossible in His name. For you God are Almighty and all things are possible through you. In the good and great name of Jesus. Amen!

Look and be saved...

“Look to me, and be you saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:22 (American King James).

Beloved...

It is as simple of a command that there is and it has a mighty promise from God…”Look” and “be saved”. I like this salvation plan. It is short, powerful and right out of God’s holy word.

Depending on which version you are reading from, it says simply to “turn” or “look” to Him and be saved. The invitation is open to everyone as it says, “all the ends of the earth”.

“For I am God, and there is none else” tells us that no one else can wipe your slate clean of sin. He is the Almighty. We are sinners. Clearly we deserve hell.

Simply turn to God and look to Him. There is no idol, no man or anything else that can save us. He is the only way to eternal salvation and the only way to the Father is through the Son, Jesus.

“Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” Isaiah 55:6 (NIV).

Look and be saved!

It is about others and you loving them...

Our God is a mighty fortress and in Him we can find exceptional security. I wish I knew forty, fifty and even sixty years ago what I know now about our God. He has scooped me up in His mighty hands. He is carrying me and is now taking huge steps forward.

I was witnessing to a group of men last week and it came to me to tell them this about my life… As soon as I realized I was to spend more time praying for others and not just pray for myself, that's when I began to change.

I had gone through 57 years of life as a poser for Christ. Like many people, I went to the Lord in prayer when I needed something, but it was always about my own self and not others. I often did not wait for an answer from God, as I felt I knew best. I was living for me and not for Him.

Being a Christian is about so much more than accepting Jesus as your LORD and Savior. It is about others and you loving them.

Father God, Thank You for revealing this to me so I can reveal it to others. In the good and great name of Jesus. Amen and Amen!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – ‘Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.’(NIV).

Thank You King Jesus!

Take it to the Lord...

Respect for the individual in the workplace has gone with the wind. Numbers of those unemployed has risen and the poor treatment of employees is becoming common place. There is little concern for the worker as they can be quickly replaced by the millions currently without work.

Most of the bosses that cared about you and your family in past decades are dead and buried. They have been replaced with those brought up with the bottom line on the top of their heads.

Praying with oppressed workers, I have found their jobs to be their affliction. Their workload continues to increase as their benefits decrease. Insurance coverage is worse, some don’t receive raises year after year, and many are working away from their love-ones in the evenings and on week-ends.

Living in a dark world, there still is an ever-present help that has amazing strength. God’s holy word says, “The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The LORD is with me; he is my helper. I will look in triumph over my enemies.” Psalm 118:6-7 (NIV)

Many people have been badly beaten both mentally and physically and have been driven to make unhealthy choices in their lives. They are living from cigarette to cigarette and energy drink to energy drink. They are on happy pills, use alcohol and more.

Come to Jesus! Seriously, this is easy work for the Creator of all things. Your connection to the great power source of the Universe is through prayer. Take it to the LORD in prayer!

“I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done. The LORD has chastened me severely, but has not given me over to death.” Psalm 118:17-18.

Our God is so good and He so answers prayers. ”Praise be to God who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!” Psalm 66:20 (NIV).

Father – We come to you with great thanksgiving. Your love for us endures forever. Knowing you are with us, we can stop our enemies in their tracks. In you we put our trust. You are our amazing strength. We shall not die but live and proclaim your matchless greatness throughout the lands. You are our God and we will praise you all our days. In the name of Jesus. Amen!

Put your trust in the Lord...

Matthew 5:16 – ‘…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.’ (NIV)

If you are really serious about letting your light shine, do you know that you have to be plugged in? I am talking about being plugged into the greatest power source in the entire Universe. Our God!

God’s holy word tells us that David was plugged into God. David tells us in his Psalms many times that the LORD was the source of his joy and strength. There are many examples of this in the Old Testament.

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. Psalm 28:7 (NIV)

David faced many battles throughout his life. But, with the LORD’S help, he overcame all of his enemies. You can too! Put your trust in the Lord, just like David did.

Trusting in the LORD,

He is GREAT like that...

Beloved…You can count on the LORD to reach down and pull you up as you call out to Him as He so answers prayers. He is GREAT like that. He will keep you as the apple of His eye and hide you in the shadow of His wings as He is a mighty fortress in whom you can take refuge.

We have been made by the spirit of God and the breathe of the Almighty has given us life. Nobody loves you like He does. His mercy, grace and forgiveness goes unmatched throughout the Universe.

All of my days I will praise Him for giving me victory over my enemies. He is my LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. He is faithful and I know that he lives and is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Thank You King Jesus!

Shalom,

Pray for each other...

Being in the business of getting people to pray for one another, I believe in the power of prayer and I see the LORD working in me and around me every day.
This week I created an event to pray for a person heading into surgery to have an unknown growth removed from their lungs.

Facebook friends around the world offered up prayers to the good LORD. I copied and pasted the prayers to an email and sent them to the person to read the night before surgery.

The one that touched her the most was from a friend of mine half way around the globe. The friend wrote, “I have been in the hospital 23 days with complications of appendices. I am praying from my sick bed for your friend facing surgery on the 15th.”

Wow! Here was someone who was certainly dealing with a lot on their own having been in the hospital so long, but they took the time to respond to me and to lift up someone in prayer to the LORD that they did not even know.

I am a believer in the more a person needs prayer the more they need to be praying for others. In James 5, God's holy word tells us to "pray for each other" and that..."The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

You are so loved by a God that so answers prayers. Pray for someone else today!

Jewel for Jesus opens heart and home...

Join with me in praying for our born-again Christian sister, Carolyne Kerubu. Carolyne is a single mother who has on her heart to support and care for orphans who are affected or who are infected by HIV/Aids.

Carolyne opened New Hope Faith Centre earlier this year in her community of Kisumu, in western Kenya. She provides orphans with a safe and loving home environment, education and a future. This jewel for Jesus is also showing God's love to other disabled persons in her area and wants to provide health and nutrition to thousands.

She is a believer in “Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy.” Psalm 82:3 (NIV). That scripture means something different to me now that I know someone who has taken a stand to do exactly what it says..."defend the poor and fatherless".

Carolyne says that when a father of a family dies of AIDS, the mother is also often living with HIV/Aids and dies shortly thereafter, leaving the children as orphans. Usually the parents do not make any alternative living arrangements for their children, eventhough their know their lives are ending very soon.

The children are left behind in the households with limited, or no, resources. This deprives their childhood and opportunity to get an education. This leads the children into child labor, substance abuse, sex work and their vulnerability to HIV infection increases.

Carolyne is a vegetable seller and is in need of food, beds and beddings, cloths, books, pens and sanitary pads for the older children. She currently has 40 orphans but can accommodate only 30 children.

She is another example of God using odinary people to do great things. She has moved off of the dime and has taken on a huge project which is touching many of God's dear children.

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

Carolyne is living on faith that God will strengthen and help her. She believes this scripture to be true and knows God will uphold her as she is the hands and feet of our LORD.

I encourage you to pray for her and for her non-profit organization, New Hope Faith Centre. If you would like to help her more, you can contact her on facebook or visit her blog at http://newhopefaithcentre-kisumu.blogspot.com/

Glorify God...

Beloved…Our Sovereign Lord set up the entire universe and everything in it. He did it all without consulting our pea brains. God does not really need us. So, why were we created?

In Isaiah 43:7 (NIV), God talks of mankind, “Whom I created for my glory”. God tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV), "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

So we were created to glorify God. We can glorify the Almighty One through what we say, how we act, and what we are thinking. We should acknowledge how glorious He is and put Him above all things.

We glorify God through our desire to know Him. The more we rejoice over Him "so will your God rejoice over you." Isaiah 62:5 (NIV).

Be grateful, rejoice and have a desire to know and obey Him.

May God Arise...

"May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him." Psalm 68:1-2 (NIV)

Rise up body of Christ! Satan has been in charge way to long. Satan is clearly the God of this age. Let’s join together and stomp on Satan. Enough is enough!

Father God - You are the King of Glory. We shout praises to your name. How awesome you are as we are bound together through you. Thank You, King Jesus! Your power is so great that your enemies cringe before you. Let us not forget that you defeated Satan at the foot of the cross. Thank You, O'LORD, for being gracious to us and for blessing us. May your face forever shine upon us and may your blessing rain down on us from heaven. All glory and praise goes to you, Almighty One. In Jesus name, Amen!

Tentmakers hang on...

Beloved...Sometimes it seems that our job is our affliction. Could it be that your workplace is a mission field for God? I would have to have very clear direction before I walked out on the children of the Lord where I work.

My job is a struggle most days. I have often wondered if Apostle Paul liked tent making. He probably did not. He was human like us. But, he was apparently able to overlook trials and stand the test.

Paul earned some coins to survive as he made Jesus Christ known on the job and in his free time, he was all about advancing the kingdom. What a good example he was to us.

We too can integrate work and witness like Paul did. We need to be patient in our state of misery, holding on through mental or bodily pain. The light of Jesus needs to shine through us in the workplace and everywhere.

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” (James 1:12 NIV)
