Learn to dance with Him...

Rick Hawbaker, Praying 4 U Ministries
“You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.” ~ Deuteronomy 13:4 (NKJV).

My prayer for you in 2013 is that you will surrender to King Jesus and learn to dance with Him. And, I really mean dance. I am not talking about bumping into each other, stepping on each other, and jerking around uncomfortably. I am praying you will let Him take the lead and together you two become one body and glide together throughout every day.

I am in hopes that you are ready to let Him take the lead in your life and where He leads, you will follow.  He has big plans for you and it is never too late to turn to Him or return to Him. May this be the year of dancing with the LORD.

Walk with God as Jesus walked with Him living a life of obedience filled with love, constantly in fellowship with Him, and in prayer. This coming year as you take things to God on the throne, expect to receive what you are asking for and witness how your loving Father responds.

“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” ~ Genesis 18:14 (NKJV). No, Nothing is to hard for Him. An angel told Mary in the gospel of Luke “For with God nothing will be impossible.”
May His grace and peace surround you in 2013.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

Father God… You are the unmatched King of the universe.  I thank you for the greatest gift ever given to mankind, the gift of your son, Jesus Christ. Today is the day we celebrate His birthday. It is through Him and Him alone that man can experience the greatest miracle on earth, that is salvation of our souls.

I fix my eyes on you, loving you with all my heart, mind and soul. You guide me through the shadow of death in this fallen dark world. You are my strength. Continue to give me the courage to live for you.

You are on the throne, Jesus is at your right hand, the Holy Spirit is my helper, and you have given us your holy word. What else could I ask for? You are all to me and I am nothing without you!

Thank you for your grace, peace and unending love.  May I bask in your presence forever and be a lamp burning for you with a steady luster for all to see.

In the good and great name of Jesus. Amen and Amen!

Prayer casting off darkness...

Father God…Breath on our nation from shore to shore, O LORD! You make all things new and are the one who restores. We ask you to begin restoring our mourning nation even before the tears dry on our faces.

We lift up to you the families of the victims in the Newtown, Connecticut (USA) murderous rampage shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Twenty children, eight boys and 12 girls, all six or seven years old, and six adults were shot multiple times by a lone gunman.

Spirit of death and spirit of depression be gone in the name of JESUS. We pray healing strength to come over this community, and over these families, and our entire grieving country. Comfort us all, strengthen us, and turn what the evil one intended for bad into good.

We cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light leaning on you JESUS.  May your mighty ways reign in this land as evil departs us. In Jesus name. Amen!

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” ~ Romans 12:21 (NKJV).

Prayer for Obedience...

Father God…In the mighty name of JESUS, may we be obedient to you each new day as we move closer to becoming the person you have created us to be. Help us over the hills and through the woods keeping us rolling toward you.

May we find you within us and bask in your presence and share you with all we come in contact with. Your great love for us and grace is never ending. Your everlasting love is like a light that can’t be covered up and must be passed around and shared with one another.

Thank you, O LORD, for being more than a Savior, more than a provider, and more than a healer. You are our all in all! The battle against evil is yours and by surrendering to you we shall overcome and win with you.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for guiding us and comforting us on our walk through this dark world. May we not backslide following our own heart, but be obedient.

Forgive us and show mercy on us when we get off the path. Create in us a pure heart and a burning desire to want to live a life pleasing to you.  We reach our arms out to you in the heavens. We are nothing apart from you and we will forever have praise on our lips for you our LORD.

In the good and great name of the son of David, JESUS CHRIST! Amen and Amen!

Expecting supernatural things...

Rick Hawbaker Praying 4 U Ministries
“Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.”  ~ Romans 8:39 (NKJV).

Do you believe in angels? I certainly do. Bill Johnson of Bethel Redding, CA. once said, “If you invite God into your house, you have to expect supernatural things to happen.” Experiencing the supernatural is becoming the norm in a lot of people’s lives.

I felt an angelic presence last night as I prayed to God to take the pain away from my leg. After a long day of standing and lifting on hard floors, I had spent the evening with my legs elevated hoping the throbbing would leave.

I went to bed with the same throbbing pain and knew that I was not going to get up in six hours having gotten much rest. I prayed to my Father in heaven and spoke healing into my legs. Knowing that prayers need to be simple, but yet powerful, I called upon the Lord’s healing hand to come upon me.

Laying there in pain I got to thinking about how I have gotten closer to God in the past months and have even felt His presence and the presence of angels. O how I hoped the LORD God Almighty would help me this night.

I called out to the LORD one more time asking for Him and His angels to bring healing to my throbbing legs. Within a minute I felt an angelic presence and was definitely not alone. As I felt other spirits in the room and a light breeze, I was able to drift off to sleep.

I woke up well-rested a half an hour before the alarm was to go off and the first thing I was aware of was there was no throbbing in my legs and I had slept comfortably.

I praised my Father in heaven for taking the pain away and for the warm comforting feeling of having his angels present. The breeze I had felt must have been from the angels moving around the room. Our God still hears prayers and still answers prayers.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty,” ~ Psalm 104:1 (NKJV).

Thank You Papa!

A nation that trust in God

Rick Hawbaker Praying 4 U Ministries
“So it came about, on the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people who were with Saul and Jonathan.” ~ 1 Samuel 13:22 (NKJV).

The Israelites were badly outnumbered by the Philistines in this story of Saul and Jonathan heading into battle and we are told in scripture that they were at a huge technological disadvantage. The only way they could win was to become a nation that trust in God for everything!

The way things are stacking up against us, I think God is building our nation to become one that will trust in Him for everything. We need to drop to our knees, pray for our nation, pray for patience, and trust in Him for everything.

It is time for us to shine and not whine. Be thankful for all the things you have and walk in victory with JESUS. He is our all in all and our goodness is nothing without Him.

King David wrote in Psalm 16, “…you are my Lord, my goodness is nothing apart from you.” Hmmm. David had figured out that he was nothing without God. Maybe that is why David is said to be a man after God’s own heart.

We, too, need to surrender to the LORD, ask for forgiveness, repent, and come to know that our goodness is nothing without Him.

Go to the LORD with expectancy

“For with God nothing will be impossible.” ~ Luke 1:37 (NKJV).

It really seems odd to me that knowing ‘for with God nothing will be impossible’ that I have not seen more miracles in the years I have been on earth.

Where were the miracles when I was a child going to church with my family? Where were they when my wife and I  raised our children. We read about the miracles God did through Jesus, but I can’t recall a single miracle in those days that happened to any of the people.

I think the major difference is that now I hang with people who go to the LORD with expectancy.  We now expect God to show up and that’s why I am seeing miracles. If you don’t expect anything to happen when you pray, then probably nothing is going to happen.

God’s holy word in Jeremiah 32:17 (NKJV) says, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.”

Tap into the Kingdom power. You will see the mighty power of God flow through you just as it did JESUS. That is what we were missing years ago and that is why nothing happened. We were connected to the power source but didn't ask for and didn't expect anything to happen.

Walk with the conviction that all things are possible because they are!

Thank You Papa!

Rick Hawbaker, Praying 4 U Ministries
"In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV).

Thanksgiving Day has come again. I am truly thankful for many things. I am thankful that my first love in life has become the LORD God Almighty. I am thankful for God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, His word, grace, forgiveness, salvation, unending love, and more.

I am thankful for my wife, my family, my home, my job, my health, my friends, and more. I am thankful for clean air, fresh water, the many freedoms we enjoy, and for days off.

But the thing I am most thankful for is the ability I have to feel the very presence of God. I have moved from having the holy spirit  in me to being able to feel His warmth upon me. I am loving it and I know He loves it and wants the same for you.

I only felt God’s presence previously when I was having a spiritual high at family camps, men’s retreats or advances.  I have now grown closer to my Father, my shepherd, as I pray with friends or as I seek Him in solitude. After years of following me and chasing after me, I have become the follower and am chasing Him.

Through praying for others, studying His word, and spending time alone with God seeking to build a relationship with Him, I have become closer to my Father. I now feel I truly walk in the presence of God and have him upon me. I am not alone as I go through everyday life situations releasing His presence.

What a great life together God and I have going on. I am only sorry I didn’t surrender to Him sooner and come to experience His presence like I do now every day. How simple it is. He loves me and I love Him. That's it!

The greatest way to experience His presence is to release His presence to others. You do that by telling others what he has done in the past and what He is doing in your life and in the lives of others around you.

I am thankful that the list of things I am thankful for goes on and on.  It is unending just like the love He has for me and the love I have for Him. I have been greatly blessed to have been chosen to be a son of God and to have inherited His kingdom.

“Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” ~ Revelation 7:12 (NKJV).

Thank You Papa!

Jesus intercedes for us...

“And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”” ~ Luke 22:31-32 (NKJV).

Knowing that Jesus is praying for us and interceding on our behalf to the LORD God Almighty blows me over, but yet it encourages and comforts me, and makes me strong.

This scripture refers to the fact that there is a spiritual battle going on for us. Evil is out to destroy us, but Jesus is the Savior of the world and He intercedes for us. “And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” ~ 1 John 2:1

Jesus knew Peter was going to fail and was going to deny Him, just like he knows we are sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 8:34 tells us, “He is at the right hand of God and makes intercession for us.”

Surrounded by evil in this dark world, we must stand firm and draw on the strength of the LORD. When we have fallen, be encouraged to know that God is waiting to restore anyone who repents.

Jesus will strengthen us with His prayers and like God's word says we are to “strengthen your brethren”. When we deny Jesus in any way, return to Him immediately, ask for forgiveness, be restored, and reach out to strengthen your brothers and sisters.

Our mighty Savior has the power to defeat all things known and unknown. He can rescue you from outer darkness. Come to know Him and walk daily in His presence.

“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them”. Hebrews 7:25 (NKJV).

Go JESUS!

Carrying the breathe of God…

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” ~ Genesis 2:7 - (NKJV).

We are all carriers of the breathe of God. Are you building up others daily so that they can face and overcome the mountains that are before them? Or are you running everyone down around you as you nag and complain about everything. Maybe you don’t see the mighty works of our creator around you.

My life is full of the LORD as I see him in every blade of grass, on mountain tops and in dry valleys. I hear him as children play on the swings and splash in water. I feel him as I reach out to others and when others reach out to me.

In God’s Holy Word in the Book of Job, Elihu, one of Job’s friends tells Job, “The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” ~ Job 33:4 (NKJV).

The breathe of life that Elihu is telling Job about is the very same spirit that was breathed by God into man as He formed him from dust in Genesis 2:7.

Take a deep breathe of the living God and get out and help others as that is the greatest way to obey God. Build each other up and join together in furthering the kingdom.

JESUS told the apostles as He commissioned them, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” ~ John 20:21-22 (NKJV).

May you so be filled with the love of Christ that you roll over people daily as you bring heaven to earth. No matter how much or how little you have, give to someone with less. Become the very hands and feet of JESUS!

Wait on the LORD...

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” ~ Psalm 27:14 (NKJV).

You have probably heard this bible verse quoted many times. I know I have. But have you ever considered that the “wait” in the thought ‘wait on the LORD’, may mean to actually wait as a waiter or waitress on the LORD? Like you actually serve him?
I love my friends and all they bring to the table for us all to ponder. We certainly do sharpen one another. A friend tossed out this idea the other day. Does ‘wait on the LORD’ mean to serve the LORD while you wait for something to happen?

I am thinking that as God told us to ‘wait’, that he didn’t mean for us to literally wait, like just lay around in the weeds and wait for him to do something.  No, he probably did mean exactly what my friend suggested. We are to wait on the LORD as a servant of his.

As we wait on the LORD, we can do a lot of helping others and loving on each other. God likes this idea and the angels are dancing for sure. This serving others may prepare us to get our answer we are waiting for sooner.

It is not so easy for us to wait for anything. It is one of the hardest things to do. There are many examples in the bible of those who waited on the LORD and those who didn’t.  Being able to wait on the LORD is a great quality of a man of God.
“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.” ~Psalm 130:5 (NKJV).

Get alone with God...

“So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.” ~ Luke 5:16 (NKJV).
What a great example Jesus gave us in the story in Luke 5 about the man that was full of leprosy. As the stories of Jesus and the great things he was doing spread throughout the land, the crowds pressed in on Him. The bible tells us that He often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.

I am thinking that is exactly what we are supposed to be doing when the everyday pressures of life become overwhelming.  Before are work, families, friends, and neighbors press us to the edge, we need to go off by ourselves and pray to our father.

If Jesus needed to spend time alone with God praising Him, talking things over, and listening to Him, then we certainly need to follow in His footsteps.
We need to spend time with God on a regular basis. Don’t let the demands of life push you away from spending time with Him in prayer.

“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;” ~ Colossians 4:2 (NKJV).

Prayers can go anywhere and can’t be stopped

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” ~ Mark 11:24 (NKJV).
Prayer is so powerful that it can’t be stopped. You can pray for those you have never spoken to, or for those you have never met. Prayers can enter schools, businesses, other countries, and can go behind bars.  Prayers can even enter crack houses.

If you pray in the name of JESUS to our God Almighty, you are hooked up to the greatest power source in the universe. Your prayers can go anywhere and can’t be stopped.

E.M. Bounds wrote in his book Power through Prayer, “Prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them.” I thank all of the  people who had prayed for me for generations.
I am so grateful for the intercessory prayers spoken and thankful for those who stepped in and prayed for me long before I was born.

Spend some time today in prayer for your children, for your children’s children and for the generations that follow them.   Be a world changer and know that our prayers will outlive us.

Work is a gift of God

“I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God.” ~ Ecclesiastes 3:13 (NKJV).

Way to often I come across people who are very unhappy with the jobs God has given them. Listening to their workplace stories it is hard not to side with them as yes, they are being greatly oppressed. I feel their pain as I often am in the same boat as they are.

We must focus on the LORD and do our best gratefully doing what the LORD has given us to do. If we are working to earn the almighty dollar, or working to please a boss, we have missed the point of being on earth and will never be happy.

The sooner we live for the Holy King of Heaven and His kingdom the better it will be for us. It is He that you are really working for and not the person who signs your paycheck.

We must do the best we can at work and respect the people in authority that God has put us under. Work is your mission field as you visit here in the fallen world. Bloom where you are planted.

We are told in Ephesians 6:5-8, Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.” ~ (NKJV).

Some days when we take our eyes off of King JESUS it may seem like we are working in the pits of hell. Know that those days number nothing compared to the many more days ahead in eternity. Yes, we will be living with the king of glory in our home in heaven soon.
Thank you Holy Spirit. I needed to hear that today!

"Here am I. Send me!"

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?)” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” ~ Isaiah 6:8 (NIV).

It was prophesied over me that I was seen stepping forward from a military line as a volunteer when a task needed to be done. I was told the LORD has some assignments that others are not stepping forward to do. God sees me stepping forward, like Isaiah, saying, “Here am I. Send me!”

There is no fear attached to this. I am not going alone. It is an adventure that has been assigned to me. My commander has said he will not leave me and He will never forsake me. I hold on to that truth. The commander is going before me and He is my rear guard as well. Thank you Holy Spirit!

It was said I am called for such a time like this to war. I am to fight against darkness like a mighty warrior. God knows my heart and He has chosen me to be a vessel for Him. God is excited to partner with me.

I was told I need to spend some time in the scriptures to continue to prepare myself for war. The word is the sword and that is what is needed to win against evil. I prayed for more direction over these visions that three different people had. Within two weeks I landed in two different bible studies.

I thank the LORD for calling on me to help in this adventure of furthering the Kingdom. I am believing that He will unfold more of what I am to do as I study on His Holy word. I am believing I will indeed rise up to become a mighty soldier of the cross.

Nobody has closed the heavens above us...

“As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.” ~ Matthew 3:16 (NIV).

It was not so many years ago that I would look out into the night and wonder just where God was way out there among the twinkling stars. Now as I gaze into the heavens above, I can feel that the God that seemed far, far away, is now within me.  In my heart and in my mind I have brought heaven to earth.

God’s holy word says God ripped open the skies as Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and heaven came down. The heavens were opened that day and the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus. Nobody has closed the heavens over us and that powerful Spirit remains here on earth. It is the greatest power source in the universe.

“Who among the gods is like you, O LORD? Who is like you--majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?” ~ Exodus 15:11.

Release God’s grace and goodness. Call upon Him and let His glory be shown. Light up the world with His everlasting love. There is none like Him!

“No one is like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.” ~ Jeremiah 10:6 (NIV).

Thank You Papa

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; ” ~ Psalm 23:4 (NIV).

I thank the LORD God Almighty for sending His Holy Spirit to rest upon me. It is great knowing that I will never be alone. God is always with me, even when the prince of the world dances about in front of me.

Yes, even on days when it appears I am in the land of the deepest night, my Father in heaven is all about being there to pick me up and lift me out of the muck.

Thank you Papa!

Ready hearts need to reveal themselves

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" ~ Isaiah 6:8 (NIV).
The LORD has revealed to me that He has some assignments to be completed that others are not stepping forward to do. Ready hearts need to reveal themselves. Are you waiting for God to force you to serve Him? It doesn’t work that way. He is looking for volunteers.

There is no fear attached to this venture of building the kingdom.  The great commander, our Almighty God, is with you at all times and has told you he will not leave you.  He goes before you and tucks you under His wing.

We are warriors and chosen vessels from God. He knows our hearts and knows how we will respond. The word of God, his word in the Holy Spirit, is what you need. Spend time in the scriptures as that is the way we win the war.

Pray for the spirit of revelation so you can unfold what it is you need to know from the scriptures as you shine into darkness. Rise up to be the mighty warrior you are called to be.

We are carriers of the Kingdom...

"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”. ~ Matthew 19:26 (NIV).

Visiting here in this dark world it appears that a lot of things are not possible. That may be the truth for those that are of the world. But for those of us who are in the world and not of the world anything goes. I proclaim the truth that “with God all things are possible.”

I was at a men’s meeting of believers and the question was asked, “How many of you have received a healing in the last three months, either a physical healing or a healing of your marriage? Twenty-eight hands immediately were raised toward heaven. That was sixty-five percent of the men in the room.

Since that meeting, many of the men have gone on to release the kingdom of God by sharing their testimony with others. We are carriers of the kingdom and we release the presence and power of our mighty creator as we share with others what the LORD has done for us.

Praise God for he is Holy. He is the king of glory and His glory surrounds us. He smothers us with his perfect everlasting love. Do everything for Him and not for yourself. Be the outstretched arm of God. Lean into Him and let the Holy Spirit lead you in love and in mercy.

It is the same God...

Our Father in heaven knows us better than anyone and yet He still loves us. There is nothing we can do to make him love us more and nothing we can do that will make Him love us less.

Don’t get bound in heavy chains concerning yourself only with what God has done in the past.  Step into what God is doing today and glorify Him. He is the same God and is doing the same great wonders as He has done from the beginning.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”  Hebrew 13:8 (NIV).

The only thing that has changed over the years is us. We have drifted further and further away from God. Open your eyes that you may see the many wonders and signs of King Jesus working in you and in the lives of others around you.

Renounce the lie that God is dead and proclaim the truth that the resurrection power that propelled Jesus to conquer evil and walk through death is alive and living in us as the H0LY SPIRIT.

Prayer to begin this week...

Father God…So often we call out to you, O LORD,  asking you to hear us, but today I realize we should be turning our ears to you instead.  That way we can hear you.  This is a day that you have made. May we rejoice and be glad in it and not forget to thank you for being our all in all.

Our best stories come from our struggles. Our testimonies come from our tests. The very seeds of success are in our failures. We give to you all the honor, glory and praise. Through our pain comes our praises to you, our provider, our healer and our savior.

We renounce the lie that we cannot persevere and shout out the truth that you are with us and seasons do change. Keep us standing through the storms in our life. You are our mighty fortress, our strong tower, our rock, our deliver.

Pick us up and tuck us under your arm and rescue us from the powerful enemy that lurks around always ready to devour us. Let the truth be known that the Snake has power, but no authority. We can walk away in victory with you.

May we live in the truth that all chains are broken by your blood and that all we have to do is toss down the chains that bind us. Your spirit gives us freedom, hope and healing.

You know our hearts. Forever keep our lights burning and rescue us from the forces of darkness. May your goodness overcome, O LORD. May your goodness overcome.
In the good and great name of King JESUS. Amen and Amen!
