Beloved...Sometimes it seems that our job is our affliction. Could it be that your workplace is a mission field for God? I would have to have very clear direction before I walked out on the children of the Lord where I work. My job is a struggle most days. I have often wondered if Apostle Paul liked tent making. He probably did not. He was human like us. But, he was apparently able to overlook trials and stand the test.
Paul earned some coins to survive as he made Jesus Christ known on the job and in his free time, he was all about advancing the kingdom. What a good example he was to us.
We too can integrate work and witness like Paul did. We need to be patient in our state of misery, holding on through mental or bodily pain. The light of Jesus needs to shine through us in the workplace and everywhere.
“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” (James 1:12 NIV)
