The Day Of Complete Contentment For Us

It's tough living in a world that breeds discontent. Will we ever be satisfied with what we have? Will we ever be content with the circumstances we have been delt or the place we have put ourselves in? Do you know anyone who is happy?

How can we be happy in our lives when we are constantly being shown through advertising how we could be happier? Do we really need a better job to get the clothes, the car, the house, and the wife we think we want or that we think we should have?
Satan loves the discontentment that is being spread throughout his kingdom. The attack on our contentment has never been this extreme and that makes him happy. Contentment has become the break down of every relationship.

Jesus was completely content and he had nothing. He was a homeless carpenter to many, but Jesus was content. Apostle Paul was content. He was a prisoner chained to a Roman soldier living in captivity. Paul was ridiculed and slandered by the enemy and by other believers, but wrote in Philippians 4:11 (NIV), "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances."

Whether rich or poor, an easy life or a difficult one, Christians are to be content. God bends us, shapes us and molds us to be his hands and feet to touch others in the name of Jesus here in Satan's kingdom. "To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some" 1 Corinthians 9:22 (NIV). Christ has become weak through you so that you might show his love and spread his kingdom.

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" Matthew 6:33 (NIV). Is this saying seek first his kingdom and righteousness and you will be content? When you realize that your physical needs, food, clothing and shelter, are to be treated second to your spiritual needs, then it is possible to be truly content like Jesus and Paul.

No matter how satisfied we are here on earth, we will never be completely satisfied until we get to heaven. Brother David, the King of Israel, wrote in Psalm 17:15 (NIV), "I shall be satisfied when I awake in your likeness." That will be the day of complete contentment for us.

"O taste and see that the LORD is Good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him" (Psalm 34:8).
