"God's Comfort Is Given And Received Through Others"

Our Sovereign Lord is full of comfort, strength and help for all of us, but most of us never come to know the full greatness of our Maker. Nobody knows better than the apostle Paul the mercy and comfort that God has for us. Paul wrote about God's great comfort to the believers in Corinth...

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows." 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (NIV).

God's comfort is given and received through others. Our pride gets in the way and keeps us from telling others of our needs. So then, we do not receive all the comfort God has for us. Why? Because sometimes it is given to us through another person and we haven't told them of the need.

Just as we are comforted by others when we are faced with trials, we are to show Christ's love to everyone and share what we have come to know and comfort them.

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble." Psalm 46:1 (NIV).

Join in and help do the Lord's work. Make the angels dance in heaven!
